Just threw my clothes into the washer. As I started the machine and closed the lid, I could not help but notice its warning label. The Japs may be nifty in making technological wonders, but their greatest, and sometimes funniest, marketing "enemy" is their poor English.
Warning Label

My back hurts, and I have no idea why. Anyway, I've submitted my application to NUS and NTU. I really hope I did choose correctly. Truth is, until now, I am still not sure what I want to do in the future. One thing's for sure though, I would give up (almost) anything to be trained and commissioned as a fighter pilot. But.... urghhh..

Hangover.

Was at Orchard walking around last evening. It was weird walking around freely without having to march. Strangely enough, I found myself walking into Orchard Library. I had no idea what to look out for. Walked past a row of books on music, skipped that, settled on a book titled "American folklore, myths and legends" or something to that extent. I was about to put the darn book back when I chanced upon the tale of Stagolee. If you have not got any idea what it is about, well, go read it yourself ha ha. For 15 mins of your time, its a good read.

Met 2 of my bunkmates at 7pm. We needed to get a gift for our sergeant. Settled on a condom with a ruler printed on it. In case you're wondering, I didn't choose that, my friends did, I wasn't even in the shop to began with. Rather, I was in an electronics shop looking at a 5 Megapixel camera built with the chassis of the original IXUS 400. Since when was there a 5MP one?!?!?! No one told me about it!!! Argh nevermind.

It was getting late, which was good. The Manchester United vs Arsenal match was about to began. Took a short ride to Holland Village to meet Chiyu. Got seats at Siem Reap, view wasn't good though. After the match had begun, I realized that the row of tables opposite of us were Arsenal fans, while, mine were the Manchester United ones. Throughout the match, everyone was shouting and groaning everytime a player made mistakes. Even the 2 Caucasian men behind me mumbled and groaned in their incomprehensible dialect. Oh yes, I saw Rosalind Pho (of Lightyears fame) at Brekos, pretty little thing. Her friends on the other hand were, well, let's just say I would never think a girl like her would hang out with "pai kia" types. Anyway, who am I to judge what type of friends one should have. Even if they looked like rejects, they could be kind, charitable people! Right....

Anybody wants to see the LOTR exhibit at the Science Center? Leave me a message on my tagboard.... I'm free this whole week

BMT's OVER ! ! ! ! ! Photographs here

Went through 3 rehearsals these past 3 days. It was hard work, standing in the sun and holding our rifles in. Not to mention the 24km route march before our Passing Out Parade. After the route march, my platoon mates and I were beat... Luckily our Commanding Officer allowed us to sleep on our beds till lunch time (route march was from 8pm to 5am).
The parade today was fine. Lots of people turned up to see their sons, brothers, and boyfriends. Towards the end of the parade, parents were allowed onto the parade grounds for the putting-on-caps ceremony. Afterwards, all of us threw our jockey caps into the air. It was definately one of the happiest, most proud, most satisfying moment of my BMT.

Gonna enjoy my 10 day break... later.

5 more days to Pass Out Day! It has been a long 10 weeks since I first enlisted. Soon, we'll all be going to our respective units, and it will be time to make new friends again...

I'm sure you all heard that 3 men have landed in Tekong after a robbery in Johor. So far, everything has been quite exciting, with the special forces coming in, sniffer dogs, Gurkhas and Commandos. Did guard duty on the night of the incident. Saw Commandos walking in with their distinctive jungle hats, saw the special operations command walking in too. They looked like those cool SWA guys you see in the movies. They had their MP-5s slung across thir chest and their Glock pistols holstered at the side of their legs.

Planning to go down to orchard later to do more shopping. Oh yes, think its time i submitted my choices for admission into NUS...

Back from shopping. Got myself a pair of Columbia boots, it set me back 200 bucks... wahhaa. Luckily Chiyu was free to accompany me, if not, I'd be bored shopping alone.

Saw Yuting at Centerpoint. She's working at Starhub (do you hub? Whatever that means...). Still looks the same though, still a babe. Chatted for a little while as she stole my Venezia Hazelnut ice cream, gave it to her in the end. Sheesh, what a glutton!

Gonna book in soon. Its gonna be another slack week with nothing much on Monday and Tuesday... I'm gonna pass out very soon, real soon... Finally some time off for myself..

This week was extremely eventful. I received news that my uncle passed away during camp. It was something that i totally did not expect, not to mention the way he passed on...I'll miss him alot, he was one of the few people who really took care of me during my childhood days. Oh well... life's like that I suppose.

On a brighter note, this week was quite fun i guess. Had a 16km route march on Monday. Did the Standard Obstacle Course too, got a day off for completing SOC under 9min 30 secs... Had IPPT on Friday, got A for almost all the stations, but I only did 8 chin ups.... Oh, I finally ran 2.4km under 10 mins. Got a timing of 9 min 41 secs, that's an A!

Think I'll head down to Orchard tomorrow. Wanna get a new watch, maybe another Swatch Irony or something else...

Went back to school today to collect the A level results... Was expecting ABC, but i guess I have to be contented with what I have.
I guess my results ain't that bad, but it isn't great either...Was expecting to get an A for Math and I was expecting the worse for Biology, in the end, i got the opposite of what i expected, screwed up exam... what the hell went wrong man. Saw many of my old friends today, quite alot of them have changed. Most of the guys came back wearing caps haha...

Went down to orchard with some of the guys. Bought a CD from HMV Heeren, something I was eye-ing on for quite some time already: Mahler's 5th symphony by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

After that, we walked around looking at the "beautiful scenery" around orchard (girls la... can't help it, its like that when you go army). Bought Popular Science and the guys bought some comics....
I seriously think i spend way too much time with guys. Think its time I find myself a girlfriend...
