Passed out of SISPEC Bravo ASLC course last week. I am now a 3rd sergeant. Most of the guys here got posted to 5SIR, including me.
I still have to come back for Platoon Sergeant course though. Another 4 weeks of tough training at SISPEC's Advance Section Training Wing.

Its there that I'll learn the roles and resposibilities of a platoon sergeant. We would be joining the current CSM course trainees (mostly men in their 30s-40s doing reservist training) for the course. Hopefully when i pass out, I'll become a 2nd sergeant within a year.

Tomorrow's the day. The day where I step into a real operational unit where I'll be housed until i ORD. Unit life is very different from training school life. YOu are expected to know your stuffs and be proficient in your drills and weapon handling.

We'll see, we'll see soon... How everything turns out.

Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto on the 8th of October! Too bad its on a Friday. Somehow the nice SSO concerts always only fall on Fridays.

Caught up with Khairul and Paul leeman yesterday. Havent seen them for more than two years, Khairul was my Pri. 1 classmate and I've known him for more than 10 years already. It was good seeing him again. Saw the Bourne Supremacy too, it was not bad but I still prefer the first one. Oh yes, go watch Alien vs Predator for a good laugh.

Has anyone seen The Notebook yet? From the looks of it, it seems like a nice movie too.

One more week before i pass out as a Sergeant. Hopefully I might be posted to Platoon sergeant course, then to BMTC heh heh.. Good life. Heard that many instructors from SISPEC and BMTC would be posting out or ORD-ing soon. 1 more week! End of my trainee life. This week was enlistment week too, saw some of the new guys coming in. I still rememebered my enlistment day. It was one of the most shitty days of my life. Luckily all has been well these past 6 months. Still got 1 and a half more years to go. *Groan*

My iPod is defective, the upper half of my touch pad doesn't activate the scrolling mechanism of the player. Sending it for servicing this monday, that means all my music will be lost.... Sian....

Seems like everyone is so moody and sad these days, everyone should just stay home and meditate. I'm glad I don't really have much things to think about right now.... good to be away from everything everyweek. Argh... bye bye

Hey guys, I'm back! First thing's first, check out my new toy! Its the new 4th generation iPod. Photo here-->APPLE iPod

I thoroughly enjoyed myself in Taiwan, less the training phase. During the first 2 weeks of training, it was quite hellish. Cramped bunks, no beds (for me that is), not enough time, no lockers (lost a few things already), and lots of privacy problems. Outfield was worse, our intructors seem to get very angry with whatever we do wrong. There was this time when my friend slept in his basha without holding onto his rifle. In the end he got caught and the whole platoon had to fall in for a scolding session in the forests of Taiwan. Then he made us go back and put on our full battle order, high kneel under our basha, under heavy rain. That was ok at first, but then as night approached, we had no choice but to just sleep in mud. Since we were already made wet by the rain, we just slept on the ground and wallowed in mud the whole night. That was also bearable, until the mosquitos came. Imagine yourself sleeping in muddy water under cold and cramped conditions, and then these pesky insects come buzzing near your ears.
And they don't stop, that's the most irritating thing about them.

Oh well i shan't say anymore about the training. The highlight of our training was our 4 day R & R. We visited Kaoshiung, Kenting and Taipei. You guys should visit Kenting the next time you book your Taiwan trip. That place looks just like Monte Carlo, and it has a magnificent view of the ocean too.
Taipei on the other hand was just like Singapore. Very modern, with bits of traditional stuff here and there (old people la). The girls there are, well, much more pretty than those found in Singapore. Haha, yes that's something worth mentioning.

That's it for now, booking out again on friday evening. Photos should be ready for viewing by then.
