After we've seen the exhibits. We went to the shooting gallery. Now the gallery employs the SAR-21 assault rifle for its "shooting". The system is basically a more cartoonish version of our Individual Marksmenship Trainer in the Army. Because i was trained in the weapon, i proceeded to explain to my gf how you unlatch the magazine and cock the weapon. All personnel trained in the use of the SAR-21 or the M-16 will know of the golden rule: That is not to put your finger into the ejector port chamber when you cock your weapon. Because if you do, you are just plain dumb. There are 2 reasons why, -Your finger is NOT supposed to be inside that chamber, its meant for bullets. -If you put your finger inside and cock the weapon the spring will snap forward and fucking snap your finger off. So there i was, trying to explain to my gf how to use the weapon. I showed her how to cock the weapon, and when i realsed the charging handle, i felt a sharp pain in my third finger. I knew immediately what had happened. The first thought that went through my head was that my finger wasn't stuck in the hole. So that means it probably just scraped it or worse, part of my finger was already mangled inside and the remaining finger was the one that was outside now. Luckily it was the tip of my finger that was slightly inside. so i got a few deep cuts only. But as i was washing off the blood, i kept thinking how close i was to losing my finger. if it was 1-2cm further in, i would have had a mangled mass of tissue and bone.
