10 September 2005

So the day came.
Caught Cirque Du Solei's Quidam with kee lee.
The first thing that greeted us upon arriving at the junction of Beach and Rocher road were these huge, and spectacular blue and yellow striped circus tents.

under the Grand Chapiteau they say, and my... was it grand!

Kee lee and I walked through some of the shops there. Saw some really cool looking circus hats. You know, those with bells on 'em. ha... They sold videos and information booklets on Quidam too.

One thing though, the prices for food and drinks were pretty steep.
4 bucks for a bottle of coke... ouch!

one of the few entrances. Ours was entrance number 3.

And now... I present to you the interior of the Grand Chapiteau!

we had easy access to our seats. our seats were located on Row O, with the seats #1 and #2. We had a supporting structure blocking part of our view though, but it wasn't that bad.
somehow the Chapiteau didn't look as big inside compared to its exterior.

The show was about to began but there were plenty of latecomers.
Some of them had seats right in the middle of the row, thus, when they wanted to move in, some of the people at the ends of the row had to stand up one by one, blocking the view of the people seating behind them.

The light dims and the the performance commences proper!
The show was really good with plenty of exciting acrobatics and stunning performances like the Che Ling (chinese top spinning), and high rope stunts.
Not forgetting the numerous times when a select few of the audience were invited to step up on the stage. Surprisingly, all of them were very sporting. Not once did any of these Singaporeans flat out refused to step onto the stage.
The show ended with thunderous applause as every member of the cast and orchestra stepped onto the stage once again for the final curtain call.

This has got to be one of rare times in my life watching such a spectacular performance.

so what are you waiting for? go get the tickets now!
do it while you can, before the show ends its run....
