Sunday. Book In day. My first Book In.

The past week have been quite packed. First it was Chinese New Year, the visits, my sore throat. Then I went out with my friends to buy Playstation 2. whoo hoo... But I haven't got much time to play it. Anyway it fits nicely beside my TV and my computer...

Book In's at 2040, its gonna be another week of BMT and rushing..... If only we could go home after training each day.. wahahha, that would help me keep my sanity, but I think its impossible...

Till then, ciao and take care all who are reading this...

I feel so shitty today.

Was coughing last night, couldn't sleep till about 4, then woke up at 9. Not to mention the fucking sore throat that I've had for the past week. Its really killing me. I feel so lethargic and spent. I have this really sick and nauseating feeling in my stomach which I can't explain, and somehow, orange light makes me feel sick too.

Sigh and when I look at my fucking bald head and think about booking in to camp tomorrow, I feel so much more worse....

Argh*(#%&*GGHHHRRGGDDDEEEAAAAAAHHHhhhhh

Its 2 more days to book in day. Chinese new year was good. Avoided the oily and fried stuff but still got a sore throat in the end, dunno why... Probably haven't been drinking enough water.

Gonna watch Last Samurai later. Haven't really gone out with my friends yet, too much visiting these few days... I can feel my hair now, its growing quite fast, something like 3-5 mm in a few days...

Looking forward to March 25th, when I Past Out from BMT, can't wait. But before that, I have to go through hell first. Actually I think we are much more fortunate now than last time. For example, my dad could only bring with him two sets of uniform for the 7 day field camp. Now, you pack two extra sets and underwear in to the 5 toner and they'll deliver the uniforms to you on the 2nd and 4th day, quite slack actually.

Hey guys i'm back!
Army life's quite fun actually. Tough during the first few days but you'll get used to it soon. Got introduced to 5BX and my instructors. Quite nice i must say, but when we don't put in enough effort, we'll taste their fury.

Every morning after 5bx we'll have breakfast and then area cleaning. Me and some other guys are incharge of cleaning the Perm. Staff toilets. Oh yes, our warrant officers, quite funny they... They're all serious in front of the Company, but behind closed doors during lectures, they'll crack jokes, adding a 'fuck' and 'cheebye' every now and then. Fucking hilarious when officers act this way, not to mention my indian sergeant major who did an army's version of masturbation.

We drew our weapons on Monday and had the official rifle ceremony at night. Did our skeletal battle order too, blacktape-ing all the loose straps (not nice to do).... Packed our fucking heavy field pack. All these weighed a total of about 20 kg. Had a short route march on monday, 3 clicks (3 km), it was then when it started raining in tekong. Its not fun having to carry all the crap and sweating CONTINUOUSLY and not able to do anything about it. Your helmet is soaked, your underwear is soaked, your shirt is wet and the straps of the field back are rubbing against your skin. And what's more, you only get to bathe at night, once a day. I think its quite sensible considering you get dirty from 6am to about 9pm...

There's so much more, but i can't be bothered to type it all out. Tired like fuck now, arm hurts like fuck... Leg's injured too, my helmet fell on my leg... *$^%#&#!!!!!

William of Ockham
A close shave!

Had another debate on religion with my friends last night. As usual, it went no where. I've come to learn that unless we are really open to change, debate is useless. I guess why we debate so much is because we all want to prove something. We want to know that we are smart, or well-read in sciences, our respective religions, etc. That is why petty debates like this go nowhere. We all just want to show off. We may deny that, but that is really what its all about.

Skeptics and believers will never, or, can never agree on a single resolution. This is because believers listen to their hearts and accept things that even defy logic or coherence. Skeptics on the other hand, require proof to justify how things work or happen.

How can these 2 co-exist? If a person who requires scientific proof in his work meets a person who believes in faith, even in the most ludicrous of situations, they are bound to argue. In the end, it is expected that no resolution would be reached.

There's too much ego involved, too much confidence in oneself. I may be a skeptic, but the truth is none of us will never know which of us is truly correct until our end. Whatever that we have learnt, believed, or heard, are from our environment. Even right now, whether you agree with me or not, depends on the type of upbringing you have. Most of us either agree or not agree, that is what we have been taught. To make a decision, but why?

If you do not, is it wrong? Is it hard to even imagine how one can have no stand in any matter? "One surely must have a stand!"

Really?

I know for sure one thing. Humans will never know anything, we think we know but we don't. This is precisely why humans, who strive to find reason in life ,find the idea of a nihilistic existence hard to swallow or even comprehend.

"How can it be?!"

"There must be a reason!" One might shout.

How would we ever know......?

So I woke up today. My dad forgot to leave me money, I had spent all the money in my wallet on carting and there was no fucking thing to eat in the house. So I drank milk, the low fat milk my mother bought. And now she's angry because there isn't much left in the box.... So its my fault again.

Sometimes I really dun fucking understand them. Yes its true I don't usually do housework, I hardly wash my cups, or plates or whatever. But even when I do it, it doesn't matter, they don't realize it. Not that I want them to praise me or anything, but if they think its ok to fuck me around when I don't do the dishes then they better say something when I do... Why should it be any different?
People who feel fucked usually complain, but there are those who don't. Those who keep mum always, those who people criticize that dun give a fuck about anything. What's the point?

Forget it.....

Karting was fantastic. Tried the 100cc one at first, it was ok, the acceleration was nice. After our round was over, i tried the 160cc one. Whoa, it was incredible. Everytime i floored the pedal, my kart just flew. Spun quite a few times, but it was nice trying to drift a little... In the end, I cornered too hard and my back left wheel flew off, kinda reminded me of Formula 1 haha...

Chien Ye sent me an SMS this morning around 6 am. She's leaving Singapore for Perth. There goes another one of my good pals....

Watched Paycheck last night. It sucked. I rather pay 15 dollars to watch Forrest Gump than Paycheck free of charge. Its true movies will never have a foolproof plot, or correct physics, or a good story line, but they should at least make an effort to. If you really wanna watch Paycheck or some other crappy movie "just BECAUSE" its "Entertainment" (for those who constantly whine that movies are for entertainment) then you should just shove the idea. Just stay home and watch cartoons, its the same (cartoons don't die!!!! Heroes don't die!!!)

What's wrong with people..... argh. They think they're so smart just because they learnt a lesson from an E-mail. "Don't eat this at this place", "Don't smell this at this place", "Don't believe what this person says", "Don't buy this for its fake". Wow. I'm so smart -grins to myself- . I learnt something from an EMAIL! If not for the email, I probably wouldn't have realized what a total fool I was! I wouldn't have realized how gullible I (along with most of the human population) had been for my whole life.

The next time YOU realize that horoscopes, fortune tellers, dowsers, psychics, clairvoyants, face readers, tarrot card readers, mediums, cold readers, chain mails, magic water, money making schemes too good to be true, and that boy from Mongolia suffering from Ebola (who needs your donation, keep forwarding those mails BABY!) are just nonsense, give yourself a pat on your back. You just became smarter after 80 years.

I don't think its wrong when people make money from people's stupidity, (magic water for you Sir?). People are just stupid. The only people doing justice to human intelligence are people like the above-mentioned. Classic example of the naive watching the cunning...

Went down to Holland V today. Met up with the guys to play some computer games (we're guys you know...). Before that, I went to GNC to get a bottle of Xenadrine EFX. I only saw Xenadrine EFR-1 I think, I read that it contains ephedra, even though the sales assistant said that it was ephedra free. Sales assistant offered me Hydroxycut instead. 210 pills at $109, excluding a $20 GNC membership for 4 years. She told me that Hydroxycut contained more ingredients than Xenadrine and it would be more effective. I paid and I left.

Had a fun time fragging with the guys. We played Battlefield 1942. It was so fun trying to fly planes, drive tanks and steer warships. The people around us seemed only interested in Gunbound, which I thought was an utterly stupid game. Saw this young kid surfing porn too, it was quite funny actually..
Went to Burger King for supper, the guys had their burgers and fries, I cautiously stayed away from those.

After eating our fill, we went our separate ways. Jeremy and I were taking the same bus home at this bus stop. Priscilla appeared out of nowhere carrying this extremely big bag. I called out to her and the three of us chatted for a while. Honestly speaking, it was an awkward moment considering that we had a quarrel before we broke up. It was nice seeing her again, she' hasn't changed much though.

Well that's about it for today, other than the painful feeling of my skin peeling off my face (its sun-burnt), nothing much else happened. Hopefully the remaining 7 days that I have left would be more exciting. Oh yes, I'm going karting this Sunday at Kartworld, I can't wait...

I'm back...

Cruise was swell... Left Singapore last Sunday afternoon. Arrived in Langkawi around 12 noon on Monday. All of us took a cab down to town. Town area was shitty. Many shops were closed and there were not a lot of "shop-able" shops. After lunch, we headed to the beach. The beach was beautiful! There weren't many people around and the weather was bright and sunny. Junyi and Daniel tried jet-skiing, and got hooked on it...

On the ship, we played the Jackpot machines in the casino, had a karaoke session and basically bummed around. Not to mention the endless supply of food in the buffet restaurant, I ate so much I swear I grew fatter...

Third day. We arrived at Phuket. Gosh, Phuket's breathtaking, rows upon rows of bars, restaurants and eateries. Its practically Holland Village multiplied by 100 with a scenic beach. The guys bought lotsa stuff from the roadside shops, I did not buy much though as I just got back from Bangkok recently. Was planning to change the Thai baht to Sing Currency to gamble in the casino. Lost 60 dollars in the end.. haha

Cruise was over and done with in a flash, somehow i felt disappointed that it had ended so quickly. Seems like on a vacation, one loses any sense of reality. I realized how little time i had before enlistment was due. 1 week and about 2 days more... before i say goodbye to all of you....

Spent the whole of last week exercising everyday. Running, pull-ups, muscle training. Spent the whole of this week eating. So yeah, virtually zero work done on the whole.

Went to watch the Yodogawa Technical High School band last night at UCC. It was good. Some of the trumpeters were real good, especially when one played the flugel horn, it was oh so beautiful. Makes me want to grab the first flugel horn I see and practice, wonder how I'll sound on it though.
Headed down to Holland V for a late supper at the coffeeshop opposite Crystal Jade, then we headed to Coffee Club to hang... Casey kindly fetched us home after everything. Casey if you are reading this, thanks Bro!

Cruise beckons! Will be sailing off tomorrow. Never have I ever been on a cruise before, hope no terrorism bull-shit happens.

Been thinking about her quite a lot. Confusion, denial, heartache. It never stops...

Happy New Year. Just got home from idling around Singapore

Met up with Gab and Junyi in the afternoon for a movie, decided on Ju On 2... Didn't watch part 1, so I could not really follow the story. Anyway, the movie was quite nice, quite funny in fact... After the movie, we got something to eat and started walking around Great World.
We walked then ate, then walk then ate...

Youping and Dale called us over to Harry's Bar at the Esplanade. I spent most of my time walking around the whole area looking for a bloody DBS ATM....The nearest was in Marina Square, but the shopping center was closed when I got there. After walking great( and i mean Great) distances, I finally found one all the way at Sogo at City Hall Interchange... Got back to the bar, spent 15 mins looking at the menu like an idiot, figuring out on what to drink. Settled on a mango Magarita in the end....

Walked over to the food center at National Library for supper. Then walked again and the rest went home, leaving us, the original trio, alone again.

Walked to Orchard, drank and walk again. Final destination was Newton hawker center, had crayfish and satay. Guess what.... As we were leaving, Mr Chua Junyi splashed the fuckingly dirty floor water-crud-shit into my sandals.... Argh... There were pointy stuff under my sole which I kept stepping on. I hurried to the toilet to wash my freaking sandals..

Lost the mood to walk further and got a cab home. It cost me 19-fucking-dollars....

What a way to start 2004......
