it's less than 14 hours before i fly off to Brunei.
there is no way how i can explain to you how sian i feel right now.
well, things have to be done.... its gonna be another one of those trips where the days pass you by as long a week.

at least my weekend wasn't wasted...
~
pictures!

4B class outing last saturday.
a small group of us met for lunch at United Square's Vienna internation seafood and teppenyaki buffet restaurant.

the spread was good, but i still prefer Genhis Khan at Ngee Ann city..

my friends and I went straight for the shellfish. Wolfed down crayfish after crayfish. They were really fresh and good. one thing bad about this restaurant though, they only serve the first drink free, then its 2 bucks a pop for the next drink.
-
bowling...
headed down to mt faber safra club for a few rounds of blowling...

highlight of the day though...
i got 4 strikes in a row!

what made it even more memorable was that i was hooking the bowling ball with the houseball. so there was some degree of skill and accuracy to it.. haha oh man i rule....

ahh shittt, i dun wanna go brunei!!! arghhhh gimme dengue!!!

running is good.

you run to the point where you are totally exhausted and your legs are cramped, and then you realise how good running is.

it takes your mind off everything...

and for that moment, the only thing that's important are the shoes you are wearing, the wet shirt clinging onto your body and, most importantly of all, your journey.

10 September 2005

So the day came.
Caught Cirque Du Solei's Quidam with kee lee.
The first thing that greeted us upon arriving at the junction of Beach and Rocher road were these huge, and spectacular blue and yellow striped circus tents.

under the Grand Chapiteau they say, and my... was it grand!

Kee lee and I walked through some of the shops there. Saw some really cool looking circus hats. You know, those with bells on 'em. ha... They sold videos and information booklets on Quidam too.

One thing though, the prices for food and drinks were pretty steep.
4 bucks for a bottle of coke... ouch!

one of the few entrances. Ours was entrance number 3.

And now... I present to you the interior of the Grand Chapiteau!

we had easy access to our seats. our seats were located on Row O, with the seats #1 and #2. We had a supporting structure blocking part of our view though, but it wasn't that bad.
somehow the Chapiteau didn't look as big inside compared to its exterior.

The show was about to began but there were plenty of latecomers.
Some of them had seats right in the middle of the row, thus, when they wanted to move in, some of the people at the ends of the row had to stand up one by one, blocking the view of the people seating behind them.

The light dims and the the performance commences proper!
The show was really good with plenty of exciting acrobatics and stunning performances like the Che Ling (chinese top spinning), and high rope stunts.
Not forgetting the numerous times when a select few of the audience were invited to step up on the stage. Surprisingly, all of them were very sporting. Not once did any of these Singaporeans flat out refused to step onto the stage.
The show ended with thunderous applause as every member of the cast and orchestra stepped onto the stage once again for the final curtain call.

This has got to be one of rare times in my life watching such a spectacular performance.

so what are you waiting for? go get the tickets now!
do it while you can, before the show ends its run....

yesterday, while walking towards somerset station from specialist shopping center, i saw an old indian man crossing the road in front of Orchard Emerald.

so? you might say...

thing is, he crossed using his hands.

he had legs though. but they were swollen. I could make out the lumps on his legs from where i was standing. Huge tennis sized lumps.

imagine using your hands to push yourself across asphalt in the middle of the day under the hot baking sun.

nobody stopped to help. not even me.
probably we all didn't think he needed help. he pushed himself across the road pretty fast, at a slightly faster pace than how some singaporeans walk.

who will help him?
everybody who walks past him thinks to themselves, "someone else will help this guy"

what if it happened to you?
Head down to specialist centre. you might catch him there...

Some people make me sick.
When i say "some", i actually mean most of them.

Why do we clamour around the bus door when there's clearly enough space for everybody? Don't we realise that, the bus wouldn't move off till everyone is on board? (unless of course, the bus driver is an asshole)

Why do people refuse to give way when a MRT train stops at a busy interchange station? Don't they realise that the train operator has access to a camera mounted in the station platform? He will not close the door until he sees that everyone has stepped in. Don't people realise also that, if the door closes on them, it will automatically open again?

Why do some people like to walk so slowly?
Walking slow is fine, but learn to give way.
Actually the key here isn't how fast or slow we walk(its all relative). It's about being aware of yourself and your surroundings.

Why can't people see themselves from a 3rd Person point of view?

why do people make me feel so sick....
