I'm in camp right now. Sitting in my company office with the TV blaring. But no, I'm not enjoying myself. Its a Sunday! And I'm here....
Well I can't really complain though, I'll have to do it sooner or later, as well as fufilling my weekend regimental duties.

Watched the doll master yesterday. It sucked. Nevermind about that, moving on to more interesting stuff.

Since I only had Saturday free, I decided to stay out late last night in town. Now the thing about town is that I never seem to see any familiar faces around. Last night however, I kept seeing people I knew. I even caught up with Ghim koon at NYDC Wheelock(he'd just booked out that chao recruit..). Seems like someone up there is playing a cruel joke on me knowing that I only have one night out(not that I believe in that someone but....)

I'm still waiting for a person to contact me. Haven't heard from her since the 'A's. Heard from my friend she's now at NYP and had obtained a scholarship to some University downunder. Hopefully she hasn't left yet, there are still quite alot of things that I'd haven't told her.

Guess its all my fault. I'm a dud. I didn't give her the attention she deserved; neglected her. I'm the one at fault here. *** *** I'm so very, very, deeply sorry.....

Before I finish this post, I'd like to ask a small favour from all you guys. List down some interesting places to go in the weekends. Places where you can eat, watched a movie, have fun. Most importantly of all, it should not get boring.
I'm sick of Orchard Road. Tired of Bugis. Had enough of City Hall.

Ideas anyone?

I've just read an article in the Straits Times concerning the deepavali celebrations. Apparently, devout devotees are dipping their hands into oil as a sign of faith.

Amazing huh.

Not really.

Until you realised that this feat has been shown on tv before. All you need for this oily feat is a big wok, some oil, and enough lemon juice(or orange) juice.
Let the oil boil then pour the lemon juice over it. Since they are both different substances with different boiling points, the oil would boil at a lower temperature than lemon juice. And since lemon juice is transparent, the boiling oil beneath it would make it seem as though as its one big wok of boiling oil. Of course, according to the law of thermodynamics(in which i have no knowledge of), heat would inevitably cause the lemon juice to boil, so your timing has to be right.

Let the lemon juice sit for a while and dip your hand into it a few times. Combine it with lavish ceremonies and presto! Faith. Great Faith.

I'm not trying to be critical against any religion, i just want to tell everyone that is reading this that things may not be what they seem.
Alot of things that we learn in this world come from books, from our parents, hearsay, or just blind faith.

Education is important. Open mindedness is even more important. Alot of my friends cannot listen to what i say because they have been too consumed by their religion. They got themselves into a guilt trap. If you are one of those reading this now, you would most probably want to learn more, but in the end become afraid to ask. That's because it goes against what you have been taught: Don't go against your faith, or believe whatever even though it seems illogical. There's always a greater meaning to whatever... Yah right, what a load of crud.

That's this. I'm the devil, i'm trying to make you lose your faith. Wow, ya right.

I must say, this week has been really good. 1 week of 8-5 at OETI learning how to strip weapons to their most basic of parts. Nice place, stress free, friendly and patient instructors. I could just do it for the rest of my NS.

Sad thing is, its back to camp for me and the other dudes. Time to hit back to the forest, prone on the soil, kneel on rocky ground, sucked by mosquitos and so on.

If we could all be at peace with each other, there won't be any need for armies, police maybe.

We should all just be happy with what we have.

I may not be an expert in the English language, but I certainly do know enough not to sound like an idiot.

Lesson:
Hashbrown, not HUSH-brown. LOL (hush puppies want?)

Untuck, not TUCK OUT.
For eg. He likes to tuck out his shirt leh

Accent, not SLANG, when used to describe a person who speaks like an ang moh
For eg.
I hate his fucking slang, trying to act like ang morh sia
or
Wah lau why you talk got slang one?

Slang is a word(usually rude) used in place of a proper word to describe something.
Examples of slangs

Penis: Dick; Prick; Stick
Chinese: Chinaman; Chink
Breasts: Tits; boobs; globes

I think you get my drift.

StRawberry, not STAW-Berry

Subtle: Pronounced as sut-ter, not SUB-TER. The B is silent.

similarly,

Doubt: pronounced as DOUT, not DUBT.
Debt: You guessed it, DET

Got it?

That's fabulous

I believe that many of you out there think that i'm stupid. Fact is, many of you are so transparent so much so that, certain things you say or actions that you do give you away immediately. I may act as if I do not know anything. But the truth is, I just do not have the heart to tell you what i Know about you. Why am I typing this?

I need an outlet. An outlet to express how i feel. Because there is no one else to say to.

-To be the protector or giver?

-To be the listener or adviser?

-To pretend I don't know or to show that I know?

-To do the correct or wrong thing?

-To take action now or when its too late?

Why should i care for you guys when you all don't care for yourselves? Why do you only care for the present?

I shall now wash my hands off you all. Whatever happens, don't come running to me for help... You don't deserve it.

There were plenty of disappointing movies this year. Namely Open Waters, Resident Evil, AVP and a host of other horror flicks.
Luckily though, help arrived in the form Oldboy, a movie which opened recently. Its really good. Something refreshing. Go catch it.

Enough said...

Went to watch SSO today.
They played Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto with pianist Dmitri Alexeev. Overall was not bad. Laurence Gargen sounded good on trumpet. The jap oboe player sounder nice too.

Still, I think the recording done by Berlin Philharmonic was the best that I've heard. It was conducted by Claudio Abbado and the pianist was L. Zilberstein.

Back at my unit. Can't say much. I don't want to sound whiny, but, I hate that place, for now that is.

I so wished i was back studying.

Please time, fly by quick.
